Ashraf Ali

Osterley Cricket Club’s President Alvin Kalicharan has praised the performance of this year’s overseas player Ashraf Ali. Mr Kalicharan, the former West Indian captain, was very impressed with Asharaf’s contribution to Osterley Cricket Club in winning this year’s Middlesex Cricket Championship.
“He performs consistently with the bat, ball and in the field and was a huge asset to the team.” He said about the young all-rounder from Kanpur India, ““He also has a great attitude towards his cricket and will be a key player for us next year.
Shaheen Rizvi, the club Chairman was equally delighted with young Ashraf Ali’s performances. “One thing is certain with Ashraf; he will never throw his wicket away” he said “we knew he was good when he came to us but by the end of the season he’s taken his game to a new level, its great to see special talent like Ashraf bloom”.
Ashraf Ali, a natural cricketer, outstanding with both bat and ball, arrived to Osterley from Kanpur in India, where he plays for Avro CC, with a lot of promise and he certainly didn’t let his reputation down with some excellent performances in all forms of cricket. Some of his notable achievements were:
209 runs not out against Hampton CC
123 runs against London Welsh
90 runs not out against Lambeth CC
81 runs not out against Norwood CC
80 runs not out against Old Actonians CC
60 runs against Twickenham CC
And if that is not enough than just look at some of his bowling figures:
6 wickets for 44 runs against Southall CC
5 wickets for 37 run against British Airways
5 wickets for 49 runs against Edmonton CC
And if we add some of the crucial partnerships and some vital wickets to the above young Asharaf Ali really did had a SUPERB season here in England.

And finally a message from club captain Asad Rizvi:
“It was definatly a pleasure to have played cricket with you, on behalf of Osterely Cricket Club I would like to thank you for all your efforts and contributions, and look forward to welcome you back here next season.”
